It's Back to the Bay Day this Saturday where Glenelg take on their biggest rivals.
Glenelg returns to Stratarama Stadium this weekend for the much-anticipated Back to the Bay Day, celebrating the rich history of our Club and bringing together some of the Tigers’ greatest players.
Past officials, players, staff, and volunteers are invited back to the Bay for a special reunion day, reconnecting with old teammates and friend while enjoying a day of SANFL action.
The weekend begins with Glenelg’s Reserves side travelling to Magain Stadium to take on SANFL Reserves ladder leaders South Adelaide in a crucial clash.
Back at home, the Club’s SANFLW side will host South Adelaide in the curtain raiser, with the Tigers looking to secure their second win of the season.
Our senior side kicks off at 2:10pm when Glenelg’s League side takes centre stage in one of the competition’s fiercest rivalries against Port Adelaide.
The afternoon will also feature special premiership reunions for the Club’s 1985 and 1986 League premiership teams, along with the 2021 SANFLW premiership side, from 1:45pm.
The Tigers welcome back key defender Rex Jones for the clash after serving a Round 6 suspension. Jones’ return provides valuable height and experience to the Glenelg backline, with Karl Finlay serving concussion protocols.
Exciting young talent Lachlan Scannell has also earned another opportunity at League level following an impressive debut in Round 8. Scannell was rewarded for his standout performance with the AAMI Rookie of the Round award after last week’s victory over North Adelaide and retains his place in the senior side.
With a packed day of football, premiership reunions and Club celebrations, Back to the Bay Day promises to be another memorable home game at Stratarama Stadium.
Tickets to Back to the Bay day are available below, or, at the gates on arrival.
If you can’t make it to our King’s Birthday weekend celebrations, be sure to catch the action via SANFL Now, or via SEN radio.
