Doc’s Debrief | Round 13

PROUDLY BROUGHT TO YOU BY CONCEPT DATA

It was a great day for the Club at Coopers Stadium on Saturday, with wins for both our Reserves and League sides against the top-of-the-table Redlegs.

At League level, we were slow out of the blocks, with Norwood’s high handball and running game causing us major headaches in the first quarter. To the groups credit, they lifted their defensive pressure in the second quarter and began to gain some control in the contest. A running goal from Brad McCarthy and long set shots from Jake Walker and Liam McBean, who lead brilliantly all day, erased the quarter time deficit and saw us ahead by half time.

Our third quarter set up the win as we balanced out the I50 differential and proved more efficient going forward.

The last quarter saw Norwood challenge again, but the team showed good composure to close out an important win.

It was great to Jake Weidemann get a win in his first League game for the Club, while Isaac Hyatt and Connor McLeod returned to the side and contributed strongly after excellent form over the last month at Reserves level. There were strong contributions across the ground, with the players recognising Will Patton’s performance across half back.

We return to Stratarama this Sunday with an opportunity to take on the Crows after our narrow defeat at their hands earlier in the season.

Looking forward to seeing the Tiger’s faithful out again in big numbers.
