Celebrating the Heart of the Club: Glenelg and Westpac Launch Partnership in National Volunteer Week

The Glenelg Football Club is proud to announce a new partnership with Westpac, launched during National Volunteer Week, recognising and celebrating the vital role volunteers play in building strong communities.

At the heart of the partnership is a shared commitment to supporting the Club’s volunteers, the people who bring Glenelg to life, alongside enhancing the game day experience through engaging activations for members and supporters.

The partnership will be showcased at Westpac’s first official game day sponsorship on Saturday 6 June, where fans can expect a vibrant match day experience, including interactive activations and opportunities to connect with the Westpac team at Stratarama Stadium.

Glenelg Football Club CEO, Brigid Koenig, said the timing of the announcement was intentional.

“National Volunteer Week is a moment to recognise the people who give so much to our Club, often behind the scenes.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of Glenelg and this partnership with Westpac is about backing them, celebrating them, and ensuring they feel valued every step of the way.

Seeing that come to life on game day on June 6 with Westpac showing up for our Glenelg supporters and community is something we’re really proud of.”

Through the partnership, Westpac will support volunteer recognition initiatives across the Club, while also delivering dynamic game day activations designed to engage fans and families.

Westpac’s Lending Area Manager, Stacey Welke said the partnership reflects a strong alignment in values.

“We’re proud to partner with the Glenelg Football Club during National Volunteer Week — a time that highlights the importance of community contribution.

Volunteers are at the heart of communities across Australia, and we’re excited to support the Glenelg community and be part of the energy and connection that makes this Club so special.

We’re particularly looking forward to our game day partnership on June 6 and connecting with members and supporters in a meaningful way.”

The partnership reinforces Glenelg’s commitment to building a connected, inclusive and sustainable Club — one that recognises the people who make it possible, both on and off the field.
