Glenelg Football Club sign Will Patton in season 2026

Glenelg Football Club is excited to announce the signing of Will Patton at the Bays in season 2026! 

Patton joins the mighty Tigers from West Adelaide, where he has developed a strong defensive play, built on a foundation of reliability and leadership. In 2023 Patton captained the Torrens University U18’s side, earning a selection into the AFL U18 All Australian team that same year.

This season, with 30-league games under his belt at the Bloods, Patton featured in the 2025 SANFL U20 squad where he finished their clash against the state U18 side as best on ground.

Will possesses a 91% disposal efficiency at the conclusion of season 2025 across 14 league matches.

Head of Football, Paul Sandercock, is confident Will’s signing will make an impact on the Bays 2026 senior squad;

“It is great to have Will on board at the Bays for season 2026.

“He will slot into our defensive line well, bringing valuable height, composure, and leadership to the playing group. Will represents an exciting step towards the Club’s long future. His presence will help fill the void of retired premiership player Max Proud, while his proven leadership qualities and character will continue to strengthen the Bays for years to come.”

Will expressed his excitement in joining the black and gold at the Club on Tuesday;

“I’m super excited to be joining Glenelg for 2026. I’m looking forward to all the new opportunities that it will bring for me as a footballer and what I can contribute to an already successful Club. I can’t wait to meet all my new teammates and the supporters down at the Bay!”
