Glenelg Football Club is proud to celebrate the inaugural season of the SANFL AAMI Talent League Girls competition, with Rosie Munn named the Club’s first Under-18 Girls Best and Fairest winner at last month’s Presentation Evening.
Munn finished a strong debut season with 82 votes to claim the award, finishing seven votes clear at the top of the leaderboard. The junior Marion Rams product impressed throughout the season, collecting 59 disposals and kicking four goals across six appearances.

The Club’s Stripes Award, proudly sponsored by the Glenelg Football Club Past Players and Officials, recognises the player who best embodies the values and traditions of the Bays on and off the field.
One of the Club’s most respected honours, the award celebrates dedication, commitment and what it means to be a true Glenelg player. In the inaugural Under-18 Girls season, the recipient was selected by the coaching panel, with captain Maya Vonarx earning the honour.
Vonarx made an immediate impact throughout the season, recording 15 disposals and five tackles in Round 1 before finishing the year with 70 disposals and 27 tackles from five appearances. Her competitive spirit, leadership and team-first approach were key drivers of the group’s development.
Her strong form was rewarded with a SANFLW League debut in Round 4, further reinforcing the pathway opportunities for the Club’s junior talent.

The 2026 season marked the first year of the SANFL AAMI Talent League Girls competition. Competing in an eight-team competition, the Bays finished seventh on the ladder with two wins, with strong foundations to build on in season two.
While the results only told part of the story, significant growth was evident across the playing group throughout the season.
“This group showed tremendous resilience throughout the season,” Hepden said.
“Early on we were challenged and shown where we needed to grow, but the response from the players was outstanding. They continued to turn up, work hard, support one another and embrace development every week.”
“The growth of this team went well beyond the scoreboard. Their willingness to learn, compete and stay connected through both the highs and challenges of the season is something we’re incredibly proud of as coaches.”
“Thank you to our players, families, volunteers and club staff for the support and commitment shown across the year. This group has laid strong foundations and there is plenty to be excited about moving forward.”
The strength of Glenelg’s junior pathways received fantastic exposure in season 2026, with several players progressing into seniorl league football following the conclusion of the Talent League Girls campaign.
A special congratulations is also offered to Tori Evans, who will travel to Western Australia this weekend after earning selection in the Marsh AFL National Championships.
Hailing from Glenelg’s South East catchment zone, Evans was identified by SANFLW League Coach Talia Radan and Women’s Football Operations Manager Rod Jameson during a South East coaching clinic earlier this year.
Since then, Evans has enjoyed a remarkable rise through the ranks. She was selected in the Club’s inaugural Under-18 Girls side, made her SANFLW League debut in Round 1, claimed the Round 5 AAMI Rookie Award and continues to impress at state level.
Her selection in the national championships is a fitting reward for an outstanding season and further highlights the opportunities available through Glenelg’s emerging female football pathway.
