The Glenelg Tigers head to Thomas Farms Oval for a Round 2 clash shaping as an early-morning ANZAC Day blockbuster.
Action begins at 9:30am with Glenelg’s SANFLW side taking on the Double Blues, kicking off the day’s ANZAC Day commemorations. Both teams are chasing their first win of the season after Round 1, following Sturt’s draw against the Eagles, and the Bays narrow loss to the Bloods last Saturday.
There’s a milestone moment for co-captain Ella Quinn, who will play her 50th SANFLW match too. The 2022 premiership player and former North Adelaide Rooster impressed last week with 14 disposals and three tackles and will look to lead from the front again.
Glenelg will be without premiership player Ellie Kellock and leading goal kicker Katie Whitakker this weekend, opening the door for emerging talent like Lucy Weatherald. Excitingly, standout debutant Isla Wiencke will return to the side this weekend, following an outstanding Round 1 with 29 disposals and 10 tackles.
It’s a full day of footy at Unley, starting with SANFLW at 9:30am and culminating in the ANZAC Day Grand Final rematch at 2:30pm. Free entry will be available to all veterans and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members until 12 noon.
