The Bays return home to Stratarama Stadium this Saturday, in a battle with the Panthers for the Carey Darley Cup.

Coming off an impressive four-quarter performance at last week’s ANZAC Day Grand Final rematch, the Bays look to continue their winning streak.

The winner of Saturday’s clash will take home the Carey Darley Cup. In it’s 34th year, the Cup honours the great rivalry and the legacies of Glenelg, South Adelaide and South Australian icons Peter Carey and Peter Darley.

Peter Darley began his career with South Adelaide in 1962 and became one of the club’s greatest players, starring in the 1964 premiership and going on to play 206 league games despite injury setbacks. A captain, state representative, and Hall of Fame inductee, he was known for his loyalty to the club, earning multiple honours including All-Australian selection and repeated Knuckey Cup wins.

Peter Carey played 448 games for Glenelg from 1971 to 1988, setting a league record while remaining loyal to South Australia despite interest from Melbourne clubs, and became a key forward-turned-ruckman who helped secure three premierships. A state representative and decorated player, he won multiple Best and Fairest awards, earned All-Australian honours, captained the club, and was later inducted into state and national halls of fame.

Star 2026 debutant Remi Brown will miss round 5 following suspension at Wednesday evening’s tribunal, opening up a key spot for strong reserves players to step up.

Coach Doc Clarke is conscious of the competitive edge to South Adelaide following their fourth quarter efforts in their win again Central Districts last week. Glenelg look to replicate their intensive, full-game pressure from last week in what is expect to be a wet-weather classic.
