The Bays take on North Adelaide in a fight for the John Sandland Cup this Sunday.

After four years in the Bays senior program, Lachlan Scannell will make his league debut for Glenelg this weekend. He’ll take the field alongside Joel Thiele, who returns to the senior team with James Langley – all three expected to make an impact as the Bays prepare for a crucial Round 8 clash against North Adelaide on Sunday afternoon.

The Glenelg midfield will also receive a boost with the return of Patrick Parnell, adding further depth and run around the contest as the Bays look to continue their strong start to season 2026.

Lachie Hosie enters the match in outstanding form after booting 5.5 last weekend against a dominant Adelaide Crows side, continuing to provide a dangerous target inside 50 for the Bays.

Corey Lyons has also continued to impress throughout the season, averaging 24 disposals per game in 2026 and earning the club’s Stripes Award following his performance last weekend.

The Bays currently sit third on the ladder, narrowly missing out on second place by percentage, and will be eager to secure another important win as they take on the Roosters at home this weekend.

This weekend, Glenelg and North Adelaide will play for the John Sandland Cup, named in honour of the late John Sandland, a 1973 premiership player with Glenelg who also played for North Adelaide. John played 105 games, kicked 224 goals across his career, is a 1973 Premiership Player & played 22 games for North.
